Spiritual Practices

Room 204

Facilitator: John Hammer

Spiritual Practices are prayerful activities that draw one closer to God.  We will experience: sentence prayer, prayerful reading of Scripture (lectio divina), Scripture memorization, silent prayer, hours prayer, and prayerful review of the day (examen).  Format of the class will be a thirty-minute video followed by lecture to include the Scriptural basis for the practice.  Implementation of the practice may be done outside the class setting.

Jonah –Navigating a Life Interupted by Priscilla Shirer

Interruptions. They're aggravating. Sometimes infuriating. But how we handle interruptions actually tell us more about ourselves. What do we do when God interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run! Priscilla redefines interruption as God's life, the result was revival in an entire city.  7-week study.

The Women's Bible Study will offer a second chance to view the weekly Jonah video on Sunday mornings at 9:30am in room 202.

Bishop Robert Barron—Conversion Study  - 7 week study.

Conversion is not just a one-time event, but an ever-deepening process of growing closer to Jesus until we are finally fully united with Him and His will.  Through six biblical stories, Bishop Barron demonstrates how those who have met God are forever changed and live the rest of their lives in service to His plan and mission.
